Located off Garfield & Beach Blvd at 19111 Beach Blvd, a new martial arts school soft opened on Tuesday (LINK)
City Council meeting recap ⚖️
Tuesday’s session centered around two main items:
Air Show gets greenlit: certified the final Environmental Impact Report and approved a 25-year deal with the Pacific Air Show by a 6-1 vote, with Councilman Williams dissenting (2:13:20 - 3:55:20 // Voice of OC)
Alcohol at the Sports Complex: approved beer & wine sales at two concession stands in the HB Sports Complex by a 5-2 vote, with Councilman Gruel and Williams dissenting (3:55:37 - 6:17:27)
Other topics included…
State redistricting opposition: voted unanimously to oppose Governor Newsom’s push for a special election on redistricting (Prop 50)
Voter ID requirements: directed staff to get cost estimates for an elections consultant and to draft an ordinance for the 2026 municipal election
Cracking down on Kratom: unanimously approved Ordinance No. 4339 restricting the sale and distribution of Kratom products
